Ford Truck Assembly Plant vandalized

DEARBORN — Several pickup trucks were damaged and one stolen at the Ford Dearborn Truck Assembly Plant, 3001 Miller Road, Aug. 17.

Dearborn police were dispatched to the plant at 1:19 a.m. on a report of smashed trucks and damaged fences, according to published reports.
Several F-150 trucks were ruined and one F-150 was reported stolen.

“Over the weekend, several Ford trucks were tampered with at a logistics supplier adjacent to Dearborn Truck Plant,” a Ford Motor Co. spokesperson said in a statement. “Ford works closely with our suppliers regarding our stringent facility safety and security procedures. We also fully cooperated with the city of Dearborn’s investigation.”

Dearborn police said they have arrested several suspects linked to the case, but there are possibly more at large.
The investigation is ongoing.
