DEARBORN — Rock band The Wonder Years will be at Dearborn Music at 6 p.m.Sept. 1 for an in-store acoustic performance and poster signing.
The band will have performances and signings at 13 other record stores in support of their upcoming fifth studio album, “No Closer To Heaven” due out Sept. 4. Fans can guarantee their spot by pre-ordering the album beginning at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 3 at Dearborn Music, 22501 Michigan Ave.
The event will be limited and only 300 albums will be up for pre-sale purchase. Fans can receive their wristband and poster to guarantee their spot for the performance and signing.
“Their record company gave us a call and said the band would be in the area,” Dearborn Music co-owner Rick Leanneis said. “The band will sign posters of their album art and perform a set for fans.”
The Wonder Years are an American rock band from Philadelphia with members Dan Campbell, Mike Kennedy, Matt Brasch, Nick Steinborn, Casey Cavaliere and Josh Martin.
The band formed in 2005 and has released four albums, “Get Stoked on It!” in 2007, “The Upsides” in 2010, “Suburbia I’ve Given You All and Now I’m Nothing” in 2011 and “The Greatest Generation” in 2013.
Leanneis said he is excited for the opportunity to host the band and the event.
“We have been trying to get more artists to perform and sign autographs for fans,” he said. “Last year we had three signings.”
