DEARBORN — Mojo’s Town Tour made a stop at Shatila Bakery July 31 for a broadcast of the WKQI-FM 95.5 “Mojo in the Morning” radio show.

Radio hosts Mojo, Slim, Shannon and Spike made the trip to host their morning show from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.

“Dearborn is such a unique city with great people,” Mojo said. “We had to come here and visit, especially at Shatila Bakery.”

The “Mojo In The Morning” crew created the tour to meet their loyal listeners in person.

The show included its regular schedule with a couple of surprise guests and ticket giveaway. The crew faced off in the throwback showdown where Shannon beat her co-hosts.

“We receive a lot of calls from fans who live in Dearborn every day,” Shannon said. “It’s nice to meet the listeners who make our job fun in person.”

Spike also phone scammed a northern Michigan woman into believing a mother bear had given birth in her house. The phone call was set up by the woman’s husband.

Fans in attendance entered a raffle to win One Direction concert tickets for their upcoming show in Detroit. Mary Elaine traveled from Lake Orion to win the tickets for her son Blake and was overwhelmed with joy when her name was called.

“I’ve been traveling from city to city with you guys to win the tickets for my son,” Elaine told the hosts.

Fans were also able to enter a contest to win Mojo’s red 2015 Chevrolet Camaro courtesy of Gordon Chevrolet in Garden City.

Michigan Attorney Joumana Kayrouz was also in attendance and joined the broadcast to play the game “Never Have I Ever” with the hosts.

Kayrouz surprised everyone when she purchased boxes of assorted baklava to give the crew members.

“I love your show and you guys,” she told the hosts. “My daughter listens to you all the time.”

The public can nominate cities for the tour — including why the show should visit — on Twitter using the hashtag #TownTour to @MojointheMorn.
