HEIGHTS — An off-duty Dearborn Heights police officer and another man were found dead in a garage in the 8500 block of Lochdale Friday morning.

Michigan State Police are investigating the case as a homicide.

The police officer was identified only as a Dearborn Heights police sergeant who lives in the same block of Lochdale. Police did not release any other information on the two men.

Police were called to a house after the homeowner discovered the two bodies in the garage. Once at the house, police observed the bodies and called for an ambulance.

The two men were pronounced dead on the scene about 9:15 a.m.

Michigan State Police took over the investigation because the case involves a Dearborn Heights police officer.

“We are waiting approval of a search warrant to get on the property,” MSP 1st Lt. Michael Shaw said Friday. “We are investigating the case as a homicide and not currently looking for a suspect.”
