DEARBORN – Two nights of theatrical entertainment will captivate an audience in an intimate setting of on-stage seating at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center at 8 p.m. Aug. 15 and 16, when the Dearborn Area Theatre Association presents “Random Acts of Theatre.”

After a successful show in 2013, DATA brings “Random Acts” back to the Michael A. Guido Theatre as part of the Summer Arts Academy, a program of the Dearborn Recreation & Parks Department.

“Random Acts” is a collaborative performance that features a variety of one-act plays and Reader’s Theatre in a two-hour time frame. It is designed to engage as many directors, actors and production staff as possible and showcases the talents of many accomplished artisans from the Dearborn and Dearborn Heights community.

This year, “Random Acts” presents five one-acts, two of which were written by local playwrights. The evening also includes a variety of show music.

The company directors are Marc Walentowicz, Brian Tripple, Stan Guarnelo, Dianne Bernick and Collette Cullen.

The cast of actors and singers includes Nick Beasanski, R. Darrow Bernick, Kori Bielaniec, Chris Boudreau, Richard Bulleri, Terry Crandall, Stebert Davenport, Michele Devins, Meredith Ferry, Carissa Madley, Monica Moline, Kate Papachristou, Brian Plater, Madelyn Porter, Douglas Richter, Christopher Rivard, Christopher Washburn and Shelby Watts.

Random Acts” was initially conceived by DATA as a major scholarship fundraiser for Dearborn and Dearborn Heights high school seniors who have been active in scholastic and community theaters in the area. The production is not suitable for young children.

The Dearborn Community Fund support sand promote DATA, Random Acts of Theatre, and the Summer Arts Academy at the Ford Center.
