‘Dearborn’s Got Talent!’ to showcase best high school talent

DEARBORN — Talented high school students from across Dearborn will compete for top honors at the first-ever “Dearborn’s Got Talent!” show at 6:30 p.m. May 13 at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave.

Students from Dearborn, Edsel Ford and Fordson high schools will compete as they perform magic, sing, dance, play musical instruments — solo and in bands — and more. Guest judges will include local celebrities and dignitaries.

Tickets in advance are $5 cash and $8 credit, and $7 cash and $10 credit the day of the show. Tickets are available at the Ford Center box office. For box office hours or to purchase tickets with a credit card online, call 313-943-2354.

“Dearborn’s Got Talent!” performers were selected during preliminary competitions held at each high school.

The student or students who win first place in the competition will receive a grand prize and their school will be given a medal to display until the 2015 “Dearborn’s Got Talent” competition.

The event is presented by the city’s Youth Affairs Commission, comprised of high school students from all three of Dearborn public high schools and Divine Child High School. Event chairs are Rami Kadough from Dearborn High School, Julia Haider from Fordson, and Celeste Holmes from Edsel Ford.
