As the largest annual fundraising event for the HFCC Foundation, this event brings together community leaders, alumni friends, organizations and companies to support deserving students seeking a college education.

The tournament has raised nearly $1 million for scholarships since its inception in 1982. A. Reginald Best, executive director of the HFCC Foundation, hopes that this year’s tournament pushes the total amount raised to more than $1 million.

“The people who have participated in the Adray Tournament have been very generous with their time and contributions,” Best said, “making it possible for many students – the best and the brightest from the top 10 area high schools – to attend HFCC. Nearly half of the scholarship recipients are from the Dearborn area, followed by Detroit and downriver communities, so these students truly represent our entire community.”

HFCC President Stan Jensen anticipates another exciting tournament and looks forward to greeting everyone at the event.

“I was fortunate to join the festivities last year, and found this to be such an enthusiastic event with so many who care about the college, our community and most importantly about our students,” Jensen said. “It’s a remarkable event that brings everyone together in Mr. Adray’s name to benefit students, and HFCC couldn’t be more thankful for such strong support over the years.”

John McDonald, president of the HFCC Teachers Federation, said: “The tournament, in providing opportunity and a promising future to our community’s young people, is a most fitting tribute to Mike and Louise Adray’s legacy, a legacy that the Adray family embraces to this day.

“The support of every tournament sponsor and golfer is so important in making a college education possible for many so aspiring students. It is a helping hand that is very much appreciated.”
