DEARBORN – Village Ford, Annapolis High School parents and members of the local community helped raise much needed money for Annapolis High School’s boys and girls basketball programs during a recent test-drive event, as part of Ford Motor Co’s. Drive 4 UR School program.

More than 150 Dearborn and Dearborn Heights residents test drove a Ford vehicle at the high school Sept 17. Village Ford and Ford Motor Co. donated $20 per test drive to help Annapolis basketball coach Mike Musialowski raise $3,160 to get the teams some necessary equipment.

Village Ford supplied 18, 2014 Ford vehicles to test drive.

“The effort and attitude put forth by the entire Village Ford staff says a lot about their company,” Musialowski said. “They could not have been nicer and they made sure everyone had a great time. They really wanted to help the kids in their community. It was great for our kids to participate in organizing the event with the people from Village Ford. It was a real good learning experience for them.”

Village Ford has held several events in the past three years under this program including Dearborn, Divine Child, Robichaud, Henry Ford Academy and Edsel Ford high schools. Village Ford has given more than $78,000 to those schools.

“The money raised during the Drive 4 UR School program has helped ensure that extracurricular activities like sports and music programs continue in local communities despite budgetary constraints and funding cuts,” Village Ford General Manager Bob Wheat said. “We are thrilled that so many people from the local community turned out to support the Annapolis High kids, and we all had a great time. We raised a total of $3,160 and the kids, our staff and all the test drivers had a fun time.”

Village Ford is at 23535 Michigan Ave.
