Tom Kinney
1. Who are you?
Tom Kinney. I’m 39 years old and married to my wife Lisa. We have 3 children, Olivia, Alex and Payton. I am a member of Trenton’s Board of Education since 2010. I am employed at NSS Technologies for the last 20 years with a background in continuous improvement.

2. Why are you running for office, and why should people vote for you?
I want to serve the residents of this great community. I believe with my background in continuous improvement and the experience I have gained on the school board, I will have an easy transition onto the council. I have been attending city council and their study sessions for quite some time now and so I am familiar with what is going on in the city. I am hardworking, dedicated, open-minded and willing to listen.

3. What are two key issues facing the city and what should be done about them?
Trenton is a great community and unlike some of our neighboring communities we don’t have “key” issues facing our city. What I would like to see is for Trenton to remain financially stable and to be known as a city that can balance its budget in difficult times. I would like to see development of neglected land and bring in new business; to maintain public safety and city services at the levels they are while trying to improve upon them; and to keep quality programs for our seniors and youngsters in our park and recreation department. Also, I would encourage and support any business, new or existing, to come to our city or to expand or renovate as well as encourage our community to support local business.
