I’d like to invite the community and our business partners
to a fabulous event that frames our city in a great light. This fall we are pleased to be a part of an unprecedented gathering of the chief elected officials and business leaders from across 18 western Wayne County communities. This group will gather this fall for an evening of networking in celebration of the region’s vibrant attributes, supporting many of our Chamber initiatives! As I’ve worked with many chambers and communities in my past positions, this is an exciting opportunity to showcase our communities and partner for our future growth.

The inaugural Western Wayne Business Leadership Banquet will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at the Ford Motor Company Conference and Event Center in Dearborn. The Conference of Western Wayne, an advocacy organization serving the elected leaders of the region’s 18 cities and townships, is working with a team of local Chambers of Commerce to coordinate this program. The intent of the banquet is to build stronger municipal-business relationships in a region that represents 700,000 residents and more than 54 percent of Wayne County’s tax base.

The Western Wayne Business Leadership Banquet will be emceed by Mary Kramer, the publisher of Crain’s Detroit Business, and the keynote speaker will be James Tetreault, Ford Motor Co’s. vice president of North American Manufacturing. Mr. Tertreault will speak about how metropolitan Detroit communities can support the re-emerging American
manufacturing industry that is in need of skilled, tech-savvy workers. A networking hour is scheduled from 5 to 6 p.m. with our local officials, with dinner and presentation to follow. The program is scheduled to feature the appearance of all 18 chief-elected officials from the following municipalities: cities of Belleville, Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, Garden City, Inkster, Livonia, Northville, Plymouth, Romulus, Wayne and Westland; and townships of Canton, Huron, Northville, Plymouth, Redford, Sumpter, and Van Buren.

Western Wayne Business Leadership Banquet sponsorship opportunities remain and corporate-table packages are on sale. Individual tickets are available as well. Contact the Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce at 313-584-6100 for your tickets and more information.
