The Young Entrepreneurs Academy
October 2013 to June 2014
4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
University of Michigan – Dearborn
The Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce and Dearborn/Dearborn Heights schools are excited to announce plans to launch the YEA! program at the University of Michigan-Dearborn for the fall of 2013.
The Young Entrepreneurs Academy is a groundbreaking, 30-week after school educational program that takes students in grades 6 through 12 through the process of starting and running a real business. Students work closely with local business leaders to cultivate and research business ideas, write a business plan, pitch their plan to a panel of investors (think “Shark Tank” meets “The Apprentice” meets “American Idol”), obtain funding, develop their brand, participate in a Trade Show at the end of the year, and actually launch their enterprise! Through the YEA! program, kids 11 to 18 years old start as students and graduate as CEOs. They learn to make a job — not just take a job.

We also need support financially and with volunteers for this amazing, life-changing program. We will offer scholarships, field trips and other opportunities and need investors, mentors and volunteers. Interested business investors, mentors and volunteers should contact Peggy or Wendy at the chamber, 313-584-6100 or
