Music in the park

Pete “Madcat” Ruth strums a happy tune at the Trenton Cultural Center, 2427 West Road, for the first in a series of Thursday “Lemonade and Shade” mini-concerts. Families are invited to bring blankets or lawn chairs for some summer afternoon harmony. Ruth’s blend of traditional folk was played on a variety of instruments to include ukelele, jaw-harp and penny-whistle. This week’s show at 3:30 p.m. Thursday features Mr. Laurence and Play Monkey with kiddie classics in “punky-pop” style.
