LINCOLN PARK — Police are searching for whoever stabbed and killed a 35-year-old man Thursday morning.

A 911 call was placed shortly after 2 a.m. to report a man had been stabbed in the bedroom of his house in the 1000 block of Gorman. According to police, the man first called friends in Detroit to say he needed help. One of the friends then called police. The man reportedly did not provide any clues as to his assailant.

Responding officers found the man, deceased, in the bedroom. The man’s identity had not been released as of press time pending notification of relatives. An autopsy Friday morning confirmed the man’s death was the result of stab wounds.

Police secured the home, and investigators located the knife allegedly used in the murder. The man’s friends arrived at the same time as police, and cooperated while crime scene investigators searched for evidence.

As of Friday police were interviewing friends and neighbors of the victim. Anyone with information is asked to confidentially contact the Lincoln Park Police at 313-381-1800.
