Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 259 honored returning veterans and celebrated Vietnam veterans during the Fouth of July parade in Wyandotte. The veterans travelled down Biddle Avenue in an authentic Jeep Willys, while many cheered, applauded, and yelled their appreciation to the retired soldiers. The parade began 10 a.m. at the corner of Northline and Biddle Avenue July 4, and it ended in front of Wyandotte City Hall. James DeSana served as the parade’s Grand Marshall and was part of the city government for 37 years. His last term in office was May 15. The parade was sponsored by the Applewood Nursing Center, the Downriver Antique Auto Club, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion Auxiliary 217, Downriver Gymnastics, and Carey Ann’s Clown Caravan.
