Nurse welcomes newborns 60 years after she was first baby of the yearDEARBORN — Registered nurse Judy Forth had one of her birthday wishes come true on Jan. 1. Forth, 60, was on shift at the Oakwood Hospital & Medical Center when Oakwood welcomed the first babies of the year. “I’ve been waiting for years for this,” said Forth, who has worked at Oakwood for the last 20 years. She was a first baby of the year herself, arriving at Lincoln Hospital in Detroit 60 years ago — at 17 minutes past midnight. Adiana Perez arrived shortly after 4:45 a.m. on Jan 1 to mother Diana Perez and father Luis Perez of Detroit. “I knew she would come on New Years Day, but thought she would come earlier in the morning,” said Diana Perez. “Everything is good.”
