Chamber ‘Love Yourself’ program rescheduled

DEARBORN — The Dearborn Chamber of Commerce and DMC Harper Hospital “Love Yourself, Love Your Style” fashion and wellness event was rescheduled from last Wednesday to Thursday because of the weather.

The event — at 6 p.m. at the Dearborn Inn, A Marriott Hotel — supports the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women Campaign to encourage heart healthy habits.

Admission is $25 and includes a complimentary glass of wine, and appetizers with cash bar. Registration is available online at www.dearbornchamber.org.

DMC health experts will share information about heart health, smart eating and exercise. The panel discussion will be followed by an opportunity for networking and a runway-style fashion experience. The show will feature local celebrities modeling the hottest looks from New York’s Carlisle and Per Se collections.

The panel discussion — featuring experts in cardiology, endocrinology, smoking cessation, diet and fitness — begins at 6 p.m.

After a cocktail reception at 7 p.m., the fashion show will commence, moderated by retail consultant Barb Biess. Models featured will be “She’s Got The Look’s” Kathleen Neumann; Mrs. Michigan USA Kyla Marcial; WDIV Channel 4 weather reporter and former Miss Michigan Ashlee Baracy; Debbie Dingell; and Chris O’Reilly, wife of Mayor John O’Reilly Jr.

“We felt it was important to create the opportunity to educate the community about health issues that impact us the most,” Chamber President Jennifer Giering said. “With women’s busy schedules, we wanted to offer a one-stop forum for healthy living, important networking opportunities and fashion.”
