ALLEN PARK – A Ferndale-based production company is looking for locals to appear in a reality television show.

An open casting call for courtroom-based reality show “Domestic Justice” is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Stautzenberger Institute’s studio, inside Allen Park Studio Center, 16630 Southfield Road.

“Domestic Justice” will star local judge Vonda Evans, co-host of WKQI-FM radio show “UB the Judge,” and will feature domestic court cases.

S3 Entertainment group, which is producing the show, is looking for well-groomed, physically fit and articulate people to serve in the roles of bailiff, court clerk and commentator.

“This is a great opportunity for local talent, and we are excited that this casting call is being held at our studio on our campus,” Stautzenberger spokesman Roger Kidd said. “It is encouraging to see new projects like this one come to the area as the Michigan film industry continues to grow.”

To be considered for the roles, attendees should bring a valid driver’s license, a head shot and a film or acting resume.

A professional photographer also will be available to provide head shots at a fee.

S3 spokesman Jeffrey Spilman said the company currently is scouting courtroom locations to film the show’s pilot, but hopes to build a permanent set at the Stautzenberger studio for the remainder of the show’s first season.

The show does not currently have a distribution deal, Spilman said.

“We’ve been offered distribution,” he said, “but we’re shooting the pilot first so we can increase the distribution opportunities.”

Spilman said the show will be similar to “Judge Judy” and other court-related shows, but will focus on issues like harassment and post-divorce problems.

“‘Judge Judy’ is the benchmark,” Spilman said. “But we’re dealing with domestic issues and we’re also giving recommendations at the conclusion of each episode.”

The show also will offer updates on cases it has covered, he said.

Those who wish to have their cases featured on the show can apply through the production company’s Website,, or through
