Watershed stewards clean up Ecorse Creek

The creek got a much-needed boost from the work of 66 volunteers who braved the cool weather to join in the event. The effort helped clear 66 bags of trash, along with several larger items, including bicycles, doors, tires, and other items. Removal of the debris plays a role in reducing the obstruction of the creek’s natural water flow — which helps reduce the potential for backups and neighborhood flooding — as well as helping ensure an overall cleaner environment.
