Bob can be your best friend
Bob, an adult male tabby American shorthair mix, was transferred to Allen Park from the Jackson County shelter when it ran out of space. Allen Park workers say the 3- to 5-year-old cat is very friendly.

Major is green-eyed, handsome
Major is a handsome white cat with green eyes who was rescued as a stray in Lincoln Park. The domestic longhair mix has been at the Allen Park Animal Shelter since April 14.

Sierra needs a home
Sierra was rescued in Lincoln Park with her only surviving kitten. Her kitten has been placed for adoption, but Sierra still needs a home. Two-year-old Sierra is a American shorthair tortoiseshell mix. She has been at the Allen Park shelter since April 14.

The Allen Park Animal Shelter, 16850 Southfield Road, is housed in the back of a large blue building east of the City Hall parking lot. Shelter hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, noon to 3 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday. The shelter is closed on Wednesdays. Cat adoptions cost $45, which includes a $15 adoption fee and a $30 spay/neuter deposit. Adopters receive a discount certificate for post-adoption veterinary care at Dix Animal Hospital, 1127 Dix in Lincoln Park.
