Rotary’s beach party provides warm evening in winter

Trenton Rotary’s annual Winter Beach Blast will return Friday to provide area residents with an early escape from winter — for one evening at least.

Scheduled for a 6 p.m. start, the Blast is a beach-themed party that offers a full range of summer-fun activities at Crystal Garden Banquet Center, 16703 Fort St., Southgate. It is also a fund-raiser that will help provided critical financial support for the Rotary Club’s charitable endeavors throughout the coming year.

Tickets to the event cost $35 and can be obtained by calling Kyle Stack at (734) 493-3817. Businesses and organizations can save admission cost by buying tables of 10 for $30 a ticket.

The price includes dinner, open premium bar and a range of live entertainment that includes tropical dancers, a disc jockey, and a performance by The Classics, a popular tribute band known for its stylistic approach to performing some of the top hits of the past half century.

The evening will be interspersed with prize drawings and both silent and live auctions. Items up for bid include tropical vacations, tickets to sports events, sports memorabilia, a big-screen TV, themed gift baskets and a wide variety of other items.

The festivities also include competitive beach games such as limbo and hula hoop, and prizes for the best beach attire.

Sponsorship opportunities and group table rates also are available. Call event Chairman Noel Jackson at (734) 671-2202 or visit for details.
