Truck wheels targeted
Two sets of wheels on Dodge Ram trucks a mile apart were stolen between Monday night and early Tuesday.

Four 22-inch factory wheels were stolen from a 2005 Dodge Ram truck in the 15000 block of White.

Four wheels also were stolen from a 2008 Dodge Ram in the 14000 block of College.

Both vehicles were left propped up on cement blocks.

Theft, fraud result in arrest
Shoplifting $18 worth of soap at Meijer, 3565 Fairlane Drive, led to the arrest of a 50-year-old Detroit man Tuesday evening.

The man said he took the items with the intent of taking them to another Meijer store for a refund.

A woman’s wallet was stolen from her shopping cart from the same store Monday evening. She had left her wallet in the child seat section of her cart and had covered it with merchandise while her back was turned. She lost $200 cash, identification and credit cards. One of the cards was used at a Dearborn gas station before she could report it missing.

Melvindale
Man assaulted over alleged drug debt
A 32-year-old resident was assaulted by an alleged Detroit drug dealer Monday evening over a past debt as he was walking south on Flora in Melvindale from a Detroit liquor store at Oakwood and Schaefer.

The assailant struck him on the side of the face with a revolver and fled the scene. The victim’s 3-year-old daughter was with him at the time. The attacker was driving a black Chevrolet Blazer.

Cat feeder finds TVs missing
Three large-screen televisions were stolen Nov. 26 from a home in the 19000 block of Roger.

The theft was discovered by the victim’s mother about 3 p.m. when she went to feed her daughter’s cats.

The house reportedly was locked at the time, and there were no signs of forced entry. However, the victim’s mother reported that some people know where her daughter keeps a key hidden.

Man loses player, membership
A 20-year-old Dearborn man on Nov. 26 was ejected from Oakwood Gym, 17767 Dix, and lost his membership after accusing an 18-year-old Melvindale man of stealing an MP3 player from his duffle bag at the gym the previous week.

Officers advised the man that he would be arrested for trespassing if he returned to the gym.

Trucks taken
A red 1990 Chevrolet K-3500 truck was stolen from the 18000 block of Koester sometime between 10 p.m. Nov. 24 and 8 a.m. Nov. 25. The vehicle’s doors bore signs for KDS Lawn and Landscaping.

A burgundy 2000 Dodge Durango with Texas license plates was stolen from the 14000 block of Brookview between 1 and 8 a.m. Nov. 28. The owner said the vehicle was locked and the alarm set.

The victim’s wallet, containing a debit card, was stolen along with the vehicle. His bank reported a $1 transaction at 3 a.m., and a $76 rejected transaction in Monroe at 4 a.m., from which police may be able to obtain a video.

Senior apartment robbed
A wallet and $60 cash were stolen from a living room cabinet in a senior independent living apartment in The Bellaire, 12621 Hale, between Nov. 22 and Nov. 24.

There were no signs of forced entry. A staff person said that at least 50 people have master keys to the apartments. Another senior resident reported $100 stolen on Nov. 24 but did not file a police report.

Wyandotte
Diamond ring stolen from patient
A diamond engagement ring worth over $4,000 was stolen from a woman hospitalized for a suicide attempt Oct. 31.

The ring was listed on the intake form at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, but not on the intake form at Henry Ford Kingswood Hospital in Ferndale, where she was transferred by private ambulance. The victim said she was incapacitated during the time the ring disappeared.

Text message precedes bank fraud
A woman transferred $925 from her checking account to her savings account after receiving a suspicious text message the evening of Nov. 27, but was unable to prevent the theft of the money from her account.

The unauthorized withdrawal occurred at a bank in Los Angeles.

Disgruntled ex suspected of tire slashing
Four tires were slashed on a Ford Explorer in the 1500 block of Lindbergh in the early morning hours last Sunday.

The woman suspects a former boyfriend, who has slashed her tires before and is out on parole after serving time for domestic violence against her.
