Dress-up benefit to help pay for mammograms

WYANDOTTE – Dress Up and Wine Down, a fundraiser by Women Celebrating Life Downriver will take place from 7 p.m. to midnight Nov. 7 at the Silver Shores Banquet Center, 1 James DeSana Drive.

Proceeds will be used to fund mammograms at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital and Oakwood Southshore Medical Center in Trenton.

Organizers say the event will continue the momentum generated during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Entertainment will feature fashions from the Willow Tree, Traffic Jam and Chelsea. Volunteer models participating in the show will be treated to hair and make-up by G.P. Cole and Barry and Co. Raffles will be held throughout the evening as well.

Silver Shores is east of Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital on Biddle Avenue in the former Wyandotte Yacht Club. It features a windowed wall with a view of the Detroit River.

Admission costs $50; tickets are available at Chelsea, Discount Drinks, Traffic Jam, and the Willow Tree. Attendance is limited to 250.
