Dearborn summer theatre fest presents Disney’s High School Musical 2 On Stage on Aug. 21-23

DEARBORN – The Recreation Department’s Summer Theatre Fest program will present “Disney’s High School Musical 2 On Stage” in the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center’s Michael A. Guido Theater.

            Performances take place at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 21-22, and at 1 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $15 and $10 and can be purchased by phone at (313) 943-2354, on in person at the Ford Center box office, which is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

            The center is at 15801 Michigan Ave.

            “Disney’s High School Musical 2 On Stage” is directed by Mary Bremer and presented by a cast of local, theatrical performers. Mayor John B. O’Reilly, Jr., makes a special cameo appearance in the show as well.

            Following the movie, the stage play includes the songs “Fabulous,” “What Time is It?” and more.

            The evening also will feature a special pre-show performance by the Dearborn Summer Theatre Fest’s Children’s Chorus, performing a singing and dancing medley of “Disney’s High School Musical 2” songs.

            The play is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
